A message from the principal

My name is Scott Eidsness, and I am honored to be principal at Shirley Hills Primary School. Westonka Public Schools is a wonderful district full of great kids, wonderful families and dedicated staff. I have a unique insight into our district. I have taught or have been an administrator in three of the four schools in the district, and I am a parent of three Westonka graduates. It is with complete confidence that I can say your child(ren) will flourish as they enjoy their small school experience with big school opportunities!

Let me tell you a little about Shirley Hills. We are a neighborhood school located in Mound, Minnesota. Shirley Hills is a National Blue Ribbon School (awarded in 2008), and our students routinely finish in the Top 10 in the state in both reading and math proficiency. Our community shows great support for our school and our families send us amazing children.

Our curriculum is stimulating and challenging to meet the needs of each of our students. Our staff is highly qualified and truly focused on student growth and learning. In addition, Shirley Hills is a Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) school that is dialed into positive culture building and character development. We lead Shirley Hills with a family first culture of caring for one another and supporting students and families as they navigate through their years and experiences at our school.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Shirley Hills!
